What is Chiropractic?  What do Chiropractors do?

Chiropractic is the science, art and philosophy of enabling the body to express 100% of its innate intelligence, mental impulse or life force.  This means removing nerve interference between the brain and the rest of the body so it may work as it was designed to and up to its maximum potential. 

As Chiropractors we look for interference in the nervous system caused by a misaligned spinal vertebra called a “Subluxation”.    The goal is to remove the interference with a Chiropractic Adjustment to help realign the subluxated vertebra with the one above it or below it.  In our office this is accomplished one of two ways.  In some cases we use a small instrument to give the vertebra a low-force tap to move it the right direction and remove the nerve interference.  In other cases we adjust the spine by hand with the same goal of removing any interference of the mental impulse from the brain to the body.

It is universally agreed that if we were to cut the nerves to the stomach, the stomach would not work or digest food as it is supposed to.  If we pinched those same nerves, would the stomach become healthier or sicker?  It becomes sicker due to the state of dys-function or dis-ease created by altered nerve flow from the brain.  It is this same principle that Chiropractors are mindful of in the treatment of our patients.  There is an Innate Intelligence in all living things.  It is this intelligence that orchestrates growth, repair and healing.  Without 100% of this intelligence expressed, optimal health is not achieved.

Not all cases are Chiropractic cases.  If after an examination we feel yours is a case we can accept based on success we’ve had on similar cases, we will review our findings and make recommendations on the best course of care.
